ABOUT US
THE CENTRE FOR VOTERS INITIATIVE & ACTION IS A YOUTH-LED GROUP BASED IN WASHINGTON, D.C. THE CENTRE IS DEDICATED TO PROMOTING DEMOCRATIC STABILITY BY PROTECTING THE VOTING RIGHTS OF CITIZENS WORLDWIDE. WE BELIEVE ALL PERSONS, REGARDLESS OF COLOUR, ECONOMIC STATUS, OR LOCATION ARE ENTITLED TO LEARNING ABOUT THE CIVIC PROCESSES.
The Centre focuses on thematic issues surrounding voting and elections. Firstly, our organisation works with governments on the provincial and national level to design and circulate curriculums to educate pre-collegiate youth on the civic processes. We also conduct research, create reports, and target grassroots outreach programmes to target civic awareness in areas with historically unrepresented youth. Lastly, we bridge dialogue between youth and policymakers; recognising youth are often left out of the decision making process, we facilitate dialogue between those in power and youth to shape legislation and action on youth perspectives.

OUR CORE
THEMATIC
AREAS OF FOCUS
PRE-COLLEGIATE VOTER REGISTRATION
By registering voters in areas where youth don't receive opportunities to get engaged themselves, the Centre begins the process for accessing the ballot. It's proven that registration subsequently boosts turnout.
BRIDGING YOUTH FOR A COMMON CAUSE
It's not enough to involve students who already lead change. The Centre's scope focuses on cultivating and bridging leaders in disenfranchised areas; places where youth are not given opportunities to succeed.
CIVIC CENTRED CURRICULUM
Our team develops materials to distribute across education systems, both localised and national, to ensure students receive the education they need on the civic processes. Education today ensures engagement tomorrow.
YOUTH IN POLICY DIALOGUE
We bridge young people with policymakers. From local city councils to the White House to the United Nations, we don't just give youth opportunities to meet with politicians but draft and create policy centred on youth visions.
